Daily AcreetionOS Update - August 05, 2026
Dear AcreetionOS Community,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. As we continue to work on our mission to provide a user-friendly, privacy-focused Linux distribution, we wanted to take a moment to update you on some recent developments.
Firstly, we're excited to announce that we've made some improvements to our ISO generation process. Our developer, Natalie, has added the ability to output the ISO to a custom directory on the host system, making it easier for users to manage their ISO files. This feature is now available in the latest version of our code.
In other news, we've been keeping an eye on some security concerns in the open-source community. Recently, there have been reports of an LLM agent attempting to compromise a project on GitHub, as well as another npm worm. We want to assure our community that we take security very seriously and are working hard to ensure that our project remains safe and secure.
On a related note, we've been working on implementing Secret Detection in our GitLab CI/CD pipelines. This feature will help us identify and prevent any potential security vulnerabilities in our code. We're committed to transparency and security, and we're excited to have this feature up and running.
We've also seen some exciting developments in our community. Our developer, Darren, has been working on Calamares, the universal Linux installer, and has made some significant improvements to the code. His hard work will ensure that our users have a seamless experience when installing AcreetionOS.
In other community news, we've had some great feedback from users who have been testing our latest ISO builds. We're grateful for their input and are working hard to address any issues they've reported.
As we continue to grow and develop as a community, we want to remind everyone that our Discord server is always available for support and discussion. We're a friendly and welcoming community, and we encourage everyone to join in on the conversation.
We're also excited to announce that we'll be releasing a new version of our documentation soon. Our team has been working hard to update and expand our documentation, and we can't wait to share it with you.
