Daily AcreetionOS Update - August 13, 2026

Dear AcreetionOS Community,

We're excited to share the latest updates from the AcreetionOS project with you. As we continue to work towards making our distribution the go-to choice for those seeking a lightweight, privacy-focused Linux experience, we're grateful for the support and contributions from our community.

In the past week, we've seen significant progress on various fronts. Our community has been actively discussing the importance of choosing the right hypervisor for testing OS ISOs, and we're glad to see the conversation happening. We're also happy to announce that QEMU 11.1 has been released, bringing with it over 3,200 commits and improvements to the emulator.

On the development side, Natalie has made some significant contributions, including the initial commit for the Linux App Drawer and the application menu search. Meanwhile, cobra3282000 has been working on resolving conflicts related to geocode-glib updates in both the AcreetionOS and AcreetionOS-XLibre repositories. These efforts will ensure that our distribution remains stable and secure.

We're also pleased to announce that our CI/CD pipelines are now publishing ISOs to the public server over SSH. This is a significant milestone, and we're grateful to Natalie for her work on this feature. Additionally, cobra3282000 has made changes to the package build process to fix errors related to glib geo stuff in AcreetionOS-XLibre.
